10-03-2013: Women's Leadership Symposium
The Women's Leadership Symposium will serve as a forum for University of Miami students to gain insight on how to become an effective leader in our community. The objective is to utilize the talent in the community as a resource for our UM students while identifying the day-to-day triumphs and challenges women face in the professional, college, and community spheres.
Date: November 16, 2013
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Location: Student Activities Center
We will incorporate additional innovative activities including stress-relief meditation, self-defense, and dance therapy classes as a way to improve student well-being. Our ultimate goal is to provide students with the tools for a sense of empowerment through awareness of their individual identities. In addition, this year we will place an emphasis on the importance of community engagement and providing women the tools and knowledge they need to become active citizens and perpetuate change.
